Building on last year's introduction of Policy-Based High Availability (PBHA), this session shows how we have implemented and operationalized PBHA in our own production environment. We go deeper into how PBHA is combined with Policy-Based Replication (PBR), Safeguarded Copy (SGC), snapshots, automation, and monitoring. This creates a cyber-resilient, policy-driven HA and DR architecture across multiple sites, without relying on expensive third-party products. We also show how fully automated VTL and tape backups are driven directly from snapshots, and how cleanroom recovery using Safeguarded Copy is integrated into the overall design. The focus is on real-world design decisions, automation, monitoring, and continuous validation to ensure recoverability. This is IBM i high availability and cyber resilience as it is actually run in production in 2026.
"Enhancing IBM iOperational Resilience with IBM FlashSystem Technology This session details the latest technical features in IBM FlashSystem storage technology that can be used to enhance Operational Resilience for critical IBM I workloads. I'll cover the following areas which focus on RPO and RTO for Cyber-attack and traditional DR scenarios:New policy based replication and how to improve RPONew policy based snapshots and help size themImmutable backups as part of a Cyber resilience strategyIBM I considerations for snapshots and validation in a Clean Room as part of IBM Power Cyber VaultAnomaly detection through IBM Storage Insights
I'll show how the technology applies to small, medium and large enterprises."

In enterprise environments, innovation only matters if it delivers tangible value to customers. This session explores how modern storage products are designed with customer outcomes as the primary driver, and how the thoughtful integration of AI can help address the most critical challenges enterprises face today.Drawing from real product strategy experience, the session will walk through the journey from roadmap definition to real-world results, highlighting how customer feedback, operational pain points, and business priorities shape product decisions. Rather than focusing on AI as a buzzword, the discussion centers on how AI-driven capabilities in enterprise storage are applied to improve performance, resilience, predictability, and operational efficiency.Attendees will gain insight into how AI can be embedded into storage platforms to proactively tackle issues such as performance variability, capacity planning, and risk reduction—ultimately helping customers operate with greater confidence and stability.
Come and find out what new features have been recently delivered on the IBM FlashSystem and SVC products, as well as finding out what's coming in the near future.
