About me
Tom is an IBM Champion for Power and IBM i, bringing a fresh, young perspective to the platform. Currently completing his Master's degree in Technical Informatics, he has been working as a freelance systems administrator and consultant for IT service providers and end customers for over five years.
A sysadmin at heart, Tom supports his clients in the comprehensive administration and maintenance of their environments. His primary expertise and passion are dedicated to the IBM i operating system, grounded in a solid command of the underlying Power Systems infrastructure. He loves diving deep into system internals to solve complex challenges effectively, going beyond standard routines to truly understand the technical depths of the OS. While his focus remains strictly on infrastructure, he occasionally leverages his programming background to seamlessly bridge the gap between system capabilities and development needs.
Tom is deeply committed to the future of the platform. He actively shares his knowledge with the community by speaking at conferences organized by user groups like COMMON, and by lecturing at his university to raise awareness of IBM i among the next generation.
