Hi, I'm Steven! I've been working in IT since 2012, and since October 2024 I've found myself increasingly at home in the IBM i world.
My focus is where legacy systems meet modernization and AI. I work on making existing IBM i applications more transparent for developers and on helping old codebases become easier to understand. Python is usually my weapon of choice for AI-based analysis, while TypeScript keeps me busy when working on Visual Studio Code extensions.
I’m always happy to talk about legacy modernization, AI-assisted development, developer tools, and the strange beauty of old systems that still run the world.
One of my favorite quotes is from Grace Hopper:“The most dangerous phrase in the language is: ‘We’ve always done it this way.’”
That sentence is basically my professional warning label.
